Our Story

Built on a belief that people and animals need one another

Harmony Retreat and Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit cultivating a nurturing sanctuary for animals while enriching people's lives through connection with nature and animals.

The Founder

From dog trainer to nonprofit founder

Judy Dyke spent years in the computer industry before discovering her true calling in 2018 when she became a certified dog trainer. What started as a passion for animals grew into something much larger — a conviction that the bond between people and animals could be a force for healing and community.

Judy had already built something meaningful in the community, serving as Founder and President of the Women of Willow Grove from 2007 to 2023. With that chapter complete, she channeled everything into Harmony Retreat and Animal Rescue — an organization built to give animals a second chance and give people a place to reconnect with what matters.

Today, Judy and the team she has assembled provide adoption and foster placement, animal care consulting, fundraising, and volunteer programs — with a Phase I adoption center for small animals, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs on the horizon.

Mission

Why we exist

"To cultivate a harmonious and nurturing sanctuary for animals while enhancing people's lives through educational interactions with animals, nature, and one another."

We believe people and animals need one another. We feel better, have more energy, and are more caring when we interact with animals. Harmony exists to make that connection possible for more people and more animals.
